Oksana Khmelnytska, Ukraine
Vice-Chairwoman of EMDR Ukraine, EMDR consultant, and practitioner working with war-affected populations in Ukraine since 2014. Her experience includes providing therapy to military personnel at all stages of service and after demobilization.
Presentation Title: "Doctor and War - EMDR for Doctors Affected by the War in Ukraine"
This presentation highlights the experience and effectiveness of short-term group EMDR interventions conducted between 2022–2024 for medical staff in state health facilities located in Kharkiv, Sumy, and Kherson regions—border areas still under constant missile, drone, and artillery attacks. Some of these medical workers experienced occupation and have resumed work after de-occupation.

Dmytro Snisar, Ukraine
Military psychologist, officer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Head of the Psychological Support and Recovery Group. He is an accredited EMDR practitioner and consultant (EMDR Europe).

This presentation focuses on addressing trauma experienced by soldiers in active combat situations and strategies for psychological recovery.

Dr. Roger Solomon, Ph.D.
Psychologist specializing in trauma and grief. He serves as Program Director and Senior Faculty with the EMDR Institute of Francine Shapiro, is an EMDR Europe-approved trainer, and teaches EMDR therapy internationally. Dr. Solomon has provided services to agencies including the FBI, Secret Service, NASA, and the U.S. military.
Presentation Title: "Case Study of Prolonged Grief Disorder and EMDR Treatment"
This case study follows a woman whose husband was killed in the early days of the Russian invasion. It explores complex symptoms, including risky behaviors used to maintain a connection to her husband. Video clips of EMDR therapy sessions will illustrate the dynamics of grief and treatment principles.
Dr. Solomon has authored or co-authored 51 articles and book chapters and published the book EMDR Treatment for Grief and Mourning: Transforming the Connection to the Deceased Loved One (2024, Oxford Press).
